The World Cup runs for three weeks in Houston and you are not going to spend every single day at NRG Stadium. On your off days, Texas opens up. San Antonio, Austin, Galveston — all within driving distance, all completely different experiences.
We have built curated day trips that work around the match schedule. Every itinerary includes restaurant picks, timing, and local intel so you spend zero time planning and all your time exploring.
Three hours west on I-10 and you are on the River Walk, eating puffy tacos at the original Mi Tierra, and standing inside the Alamo. This day trip includes a curated itinerary, restaurant reservations, and a digital guide with Houston-local tips that no travel blog will tell you. Perfect for a rest day between matches.
Austin is 2.5 hours up Highway 290 and it is a completely different Texas vibe. Live music on 6th Street, breakfast at the legendary Bouldin Creek, swimming at Barton Springs, and brisket at Franklin BBQ (we will tell you how to skip the line). Your itinerary is built around your match schedule so you are back in Houston with time to spare.
Galveston Island is 45 minutes south on I-45. Hit the Seawall for Gulf Coast views, grab fresh seafood at Gaido’s (open since 1911), walk the historic Strand District, and cool off in the water. After a week of Houston heat and packed stadiums, this is the reset you need.
Texas is massive. San Antonio is 3 hours. Austin is 2.5 hours. Dallas is 4 hours (we do not recommend a day trip). Galveston is 45 minutes. All drives are highway, flat, and easy. But if you want to skip the drive entirely, check our Sprinter Transport packages for group travel.
All trips include AC transport and local guide. Secure checkout via Stripe.
